The Kids of Veterans hold regular meetings, get-togethers, seminars, picnics and other events.  If you'd like to attend, please phone or email The Committee to register your interest.  If you have any ideas for events let The Committee know.

VIETNAM VETERANS DAY

Sunday 20th August sees us commemorating Vietnam Veterans Day (Long Tan Day).   Kids of Veterans will be there.  The VVA will run a memorial service in the Vietnam Veteran's Pavilion.  All those present can be part of the service, Dad's, Mum's and Kids, will be given the opportunity to lay a remembrance poppy in the memorial pavilion, towards the end of the service.


DATE:  Sunday 20th August
TIME:  10:45am for an 11am start - approximately 30 minute service
VENUE:  Vietnam Veterans Memorial, May Road, Kings Park, West Perth
PROGRAM:  Dad's form up and take part in a short march through the park to the Memorial.



MAY K.V. INFO NIGHT

Kids of Veterans invited kids of veterans, veterans and their partners to attend our first Information Evening for 2006.  We had two "Kids" speaking about their experiences as an adult and growing up with a parent who is a veteran.  We believe it was a great success and it was really informative and empowering to metwork with other individuals and families who have similar life experiences and can offer some solutions.  Kids of Veterans would like to repeat this Info Night sometime down the track.  Please let us know if you're interested in coming - we'd love to see you there!




KIDS DISCUSSION GROUP

Some time ago KV floated the idea of a "Kids Only" session where we could all feel safe and comfortable amongst each other to have a talk.  we haven't recieved much feedback (that's always welcome!)  We're proposing to meet on a Saturday, about midmorning.  It would be held at Hollywood Hospital and in conjuction with the V.V.C.S.  Any feedback, queries or ideas are welcome!
